The Mountfield SP42 is a self-propelled rotary mower built with a steel deck and 41cm cutting width. It has the same s as the Mountfield HP42 but with power drive.Self-propelled or power driven lawnmowers have a drive system which propels the mower along at a walking pace. The SP42 has a single speed so stays at the one pace. The 4 wheeled Mountfield SP42 has great features including wheels with ball bearings, mulch plug and 60L fabric grass bag. The fabric grass catchers let air circulate through the cuttings for more efficient collecting.Choose the best cutting height for the conditions from 6 settings which can be adjusted from 22 ? 65mm. Start at the highest setting (65mm) then work down to the lowest (22mm) for the best cut and finish to the lawn. Quick and simple height adjustments are done via a single lever.The Mountfield ST120 engine provides great performance and fuel economy on the SP42. Mountfield invest a great deal of resources into continually updating their own brand engines. A bottle of 4-stroke engine oil will be included with the mower to get you started (All machines are shipped dry without fuel). Fill with fresh petrol and off you go. Always use fresh petrol in your engine as it can begin to go stale within 4 ? 6 weeks. Stale fuel will affect the performance and running quality of the engine and can stop it working altogether. Only buy as much as you need and don?t store big quantities. Alternatively mix your fresh petrol with a fuel additive which can keep it fresh for up to 3 years. These additives won?t revive stale fuel so you need to mix together with the fresh petrol before you add to the fuel tank.
